America is one of the most (if not the most) diverse places in the world. America is a place where people come to persue their dreams of having a better life. Although it is not always true America is the place where everone is accepted. No matter your gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation you can be accepted. Diversity is what makes America.

America is in my opinion one of the most diverse places on the globe. Throughout the United States there are so many different types of people. Many people come to America to live better lives that their countries did not offer. America has never been only one race since it was founded hundreds of years ago. Since then there are so many different ethnic groups and collectively they all make up and help make America what it is today.

We live in a world of differences, of seemingly infinite diversity and variety. As a person grows, they are shaped by the people, environments and ideas to which they are exposed. Because the structure of our growing differs, our knowledge and perception of the world differs too. In America today diversity is everywhere and it is a very important aspect.

In my opinion diversity is what makes America to be what it is today. Diversity is crucial to the positive progression of America. Diversity in America not only allows for an host of new ideas, and also different types of beauty. Diversity in America not only presents a host of intimate snapshots of culture and heritage, but also documents the struggles of nationalities to integrate into the “melting pot” society of America, and highlights the strength and integrity of various cultural leaders.

The state of diversity in America has changed in the following generations after a series of movements pertaining to race, freedom of speech, and sexuality. But underlying ignorance and refusal to obtain knowledge to get a better understanding of one another still hinders America from reaching that optimistic goal to becoming a better nation.

America is becomming more and more diverse and that's a good thing. I believe all the diffences that is in this country we all could benefit by learning one another and maybe we could end racism and start loving and respecting one another. Change is good and diversity in people should not be frown upon but be accepted for not only for their diffences but also for their contribution to this country.
America is definetly one of the most diverse places on this earth. America is a place that many people call home. All types of religion, culture, belief, nationalities. Diversity lives in america strongly, I believe that it's something everyone has just accepted, and has moved on with their lives.

I believe that the state of diversity in America is very important and that it has a very profound effect on our attitudes and actions towards each other and other ethnic groups. Although diversity in America has improved over the years it stills needs improvement. We need more diversity in the workplace, education, and and most of all in our government. Only time and change can improve our diversity deficit.

Being that it was built by immigratns that came from various parts of the world, America has always been known as a diverse nation. Not only diverse in nationality, but also in religion, color, social standing, etc. The problem, though, is that the people of America don't seem to accept the nation for the diverse place that it is. One group always tries to be better than the others, which stops the great opportunities that could come from a nation that embraces all of the differences of its inhabitants.

I believe that America is the most diverse place in the world. By now you can find diversity in almost every state. Minorities make up most of the most states population. America has so many opportunities, which makes it easier to obtain everyone's goals.

America has become one of many melting pot countries in the world. Although diversity can be scarce in some areas, diversity can help make a person stronger, open minded and well-rounded. Being able to communicate, work with, and establish relationships with others are extremely helpful in humbling a person in life.

Diversity in America is a very complex topic to discuss. This subject brings about controversy on so many different aspects of life including race, sexual orientation, gender, social status, and especially religion. Thus, making it very hard to argue about one particular subject matter. Therefore, diversity has become an essential part for this nation and our humanity. We have learned to grasp it and use it as a learning tool to get a better understanding of life. In addition, we have come to recognize and appreciate the differences in each other.

Many people decide to migrate to America making it one of the most diversed countires in the world. Most migrants are looking for economic gain and the freedom to persue their dreams as individuals. They bring new ideas and differences that are either accepted or adapted. These differences are what makes us who we are as individuals and what makes America the place that it is.

America, continues to be the best country for one to reside. Race nor nationality matters in most cases here in America, but because there is an increase in diversity I think the country as a whole keeps and allows America to continue to be as it stands and encourages more individuals to thrive and want to live here.

When we entered grade school we began to learn about our country as well as other counntries in the world. Many can agree that America is a very diverse country. It is a place where people can be who they want without being judged. America is a diverse country, there are many great aspects of being diverse, and we are lucky to get the chance to be who we want! A lot will agree that because of the diversity displayed in America that makes us the best country in the nation!

As of today, diversity in America is beautiful. It's easy to find different people, cultures, and beliefs by simply taking a stroll in the mall; depending on the day that is. That is where the problem lies now. Many different people share America, but most people aren't making a great enough effort to intermingle and share their own lives with that of the next person who is looks "differently". And it shows in all of the public: malls, workplaces, and most undoubtedly, classrooms. Most people of America , at the very least, are afraid, indifferent, or too comfortable in their own skin to rendezvous, learn, or even desire to show concern to people who are different from them. I just believe diversity in America can come to mean so much more if people did more than accept, but made honest effort to embrace the differences around them. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tag/jena-six
America is said to be the most diverse place and i do agree. It is a place that is said to give other nationalities a chance to have a great life and experience many things.http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/living/columnists/guests/s_546278.html
America is a very diverse country. It seems that now the minority is turning into the majority with the Hispanics leading the way. I believe that America is the only country that has so many diverse populations. This is a good thing because it can help Americans learn different cultures without actually going there.

In my opinion, diversity in America is something that has been widely accepted throughout years. Ever since the time of desegregation, diversity has been something that is implemented throughout the country. In the National Anthem of the United States, there is a part that says, "...land of the free...", that says a lot about the intentions of the nation and the diversity of the nation.

In MAerica i believe that diversity has many great and outstanding advantages. However, lookoing at one of the negative side of diversity. It plays to many restrict on how and what is acceptable and even on what maybe right or wrong in a given situation in life. Because of all the different background, ethinic group and culture beliefs. American, instead say and tell the true as it is; it is rather sugar coated and and a lot times squired

America is the most diverse place in the world. It has become a melting pot for different cultures, races, religions. Each culture, or each religion is exposed to the other and eventually they progress, grow and learn from each other. Although I believe that yes America is indeed a diverse place to live, I disagree at the same time because if the America is so diverse then why are there places where multiracial people aren't accepted, or not even multiracial people, but people who practice certain religions or aren't able to practice the sexual preference they choose? When it comes down to it, America can be diverse as it wants to be, but regardless, not everything will ever be accepted.
http://www.worldandischool.com/specialcollection/special-collection-diversity.asp
As we all know we live in one of the most diverse places in this world; and it seems like in this point of time people would be able to accept diversity, but this we all know isn't accurate. Indeed we are made up of diversity, but is it really accepted.

I love the diversity in America, particularly New York! You can pretty much get a taste of any country in the world inside the United States, although it's not near the same as visiting the actual place. One problem with the diversity in this country is that people don't know how to accept those who may not have originated here when the irony of the whole thing is that none of us originated here. America, known as the "melting pot" of the world, is now becoming the "tomato soup" of the world. According to political scientist Professor Samuel Huntington, tomato soup is the blending of new ingredients adds spice without compromising the essential character of tomato. Just like tomato soup, we have added many different spices to America over the years but this is still America.

In my opinion, America is the most diverse place that you can live in. Every where you go you see someone from a different ethncity group. If you were to walk on a college campus you will see the diffrent ethnic groups. Where else can you really go and see so many different people who have different opinions that still interact.

I THINK DIVERSITY MAKES AMERICA. IF EVERYONE WAS THE SAME, THIS COUNTRY WOULDN'T SURVIVE. AMERICA IS MADE UP OF THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND ETHNICS GROUPS THAT COMPRISE OUR SOCIETY.THE DIVERSITY IN AMERICA BRINGS GREAT OPPORTUNITIES WHICH MAKES OUR COUNTRY A GREAT PLACE.

America to me is the land of diversity. In fact the United States is the most diverse place on the planet, and I believe I should know first hand being that I was born and raised in probably the most diverse city in the states MIAMI also know as the gateway to freedom. Which I believe is a good thing because different people bring different things to the table, and besides I don’t have to travel as much all I have to do is go to a friends house and see how the different cultures operate.

So far you all very insightful views.
Diversity is defined as more than just differences in race. In my opinion diversity can also be defined as a difference in culture, gender, and a way of living. America contains a variety of that, in conclusion making it the most diverse country in the world. America forces you to broaden your way of thinking, because of the vast variety of people. The human population in America is large, because America offers something that many countries do not, and that's democracy. This allows people to make their personal decision to live the way they choose to. In retrospect that's the American dream for many. Diversity in America offers more than what many observe.
My opinion is that the U.S. is one of the most divese places in the world in some of its regions or areas. There are many places that do not accept different races or cultures. The U.S. has grown a little as far as diversity is concern but there is alot of room for improvement.

America is an extremely diverse country. There are many different ethnic backgrounds, races, coultures, and traditions. All these different assets contribute to te name "the melting pot." Diversity in America has its pros and cons. A good side is that people can learn different backgrounds, and people also can gain many right that they could not acquire in other countries. On the bad side people are races. Eventhough it is said everyone is created equal that is not the case. All in all diversity sets America apart from other countries.

Diversity is the state or face of being diverse; different; unlikeness; variety; multiformity; a point of difference. America at times does not know how to accept change. In this video it shows how immigrants in America are never identified as Americans no matter how long they stay in America. America has many opportunities but diversity at times can deter the person from reaching their highest potential due to the color of their skin or their physical appearance. They say, that America is a “melting pot” but that is a common misconception we all do not face the same opportunities, because in reality America is a “salad bowl”, every ethnic group maintains their own distinct cultures and traditions.

America has always been a place of diversity since the beginnings of the country.
The diversity has also come a long way, but I think it has far to go. The leadership of this country and large companies is not a fair representation of the diversity in this country.
Things are still being controlled in majority by white men. No women, blacks or hispanics. Even though America is a great place to be, the leadership of larger institutions need to be a representation of the population. Honestly, I don't believe that whites are the majority at large anymore. It's just tradition for this country to put whites first above everyone else.

The United States is one of the most diverse places in the world. Over time it has become even more diverse. To other countries America is the place to be. People wait their whole lives to come here, sometimes to pursue dreams and other times to end their struggle. The American way of life has been adopted by other countries and is looked upon as bad in some. Other countries feel that Americans are spoiled, lazy, and wasteful. In some ways I agree. As I’ve been told before you never know what you have until it’s gone.
America is the cultural melting pot of the Western Hemisphere. When you look at cities like New York, Miami, and Washington D.C. you a able to just see how divers The united states is. On top of racial diversity, The U.S. is a place where a persont can express their sexuality adding to the diversity. Without the diversity in the U.S. it would not be the becon of light that it is today.
http://www.apa.org/pi/multiculturalguidelines/diversity.html
America is one of, if not the most, culturally diverse places in the world. It is comprised of millions of people from various different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. America thrives on it's diversity, even when trouble arises between people of differnt backgroungs, because through conflict we get change, and we are all able to evolve. Some call America the great melting pot, but that would imply that of all its subcultures merge to create a larger whole. That is not entirely true, because if it were, America would not be very diverse at all. The different cultures that comprise America remain, if not completly seperate, definitely distinct. And that is what makes America such a wonderful place to live in and experience.

Diversity in America has come a long way. People of all colors, background and ethnicities are all over this country. Though we are not completely diversified in every aspect, but this country has made a huge leap for diversity in the last 50 years. Brown v. Board of Education has change so much for schools and then dribbled down into society. Though changes and adjustments have been made, this country does need more diversity racially in all races not just black and white and socio-economically. The gap between rich and poor his very wide, and this needs diversity.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08021/850864-51.stm
The state of diversity in America is at its peak as far as history goes mainly because of the fact that there is actually a chance of either a woman or black man becoming the president of the United States. Although it would be fair to say that America has come a long way since being segregated only some fifty years ago, but I say its more of a diversity manner because its not just a bunch of old white men running for president. As a result, diversity has bloomed throughout corporate America in the fact that there are Black and Hispanic CEO’s or business owners. There is even an expansion of Black coaches in the professional sports world. Last year’s Super Bowl was the first to ever have two Black head coaches on both sides of the field. The diversity is getting wider spreading and looks promising for the future. On the flipside, there are many people who believe that diversity is the worst thing to ever happen in America. One of the reasons why those people don’t believe in diversity is when it comes to elections. Minorities are always said to not care in the presidential elections and other elections because they don’t bother voting or not even registered to vote. On a personal note, I believe that minorities are the main reason why America is able to expand into such a melting pot and it’s been like that from the beginning.

great comments, assignment 1 is now closed
The state of diversity in America is one of the biggest issues of today. Diversity is spreading throughout the world. In this day and age the almighty white america is becomig less and less white and more and more multicultural. I consider this state of diveristy to be a great thing because it opens more doors for equality among all nationalities.

I believe that with the United States being so diverse it is easier for everyone to accept other cultures, values, and attitudes. Diversity makes the United States what we are today. We interact daily with people that are a different race, gender, and religious group from ourselves. Diversity helps us to to understand and respect others. We have a lot to work on with accepting others but I am glad that we are making changes everyday.

(Hopefully I'm doing this right) America is the true land of diversity. We actually take from one, and "add" to another. And by that I mean; look around, you have caucasian people who have "adopted" what is believed to be the "ethnic" look (baggy pants, caps turned backwards etc.) On the flip side you have ethnic people who have adopted or taken from some of the other cultures. Example; NEVER in a million years would an ethnic person be caught wearing pants/slacks to church. (However, other populations do it, and have done it with no problem). Now, we too have accepted this change. It is acutally more common to see (especially a younger person) in church with slacks on. Granted "grandma" will NEVER do this but still again we are adding and taking from each other. The site I explored was: http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/5000/5250.html
this site talked about our eating habits, which I found to be very interesting. It also made me think back to when I was in grade school. I had a friend (Caucasian)and one day we were talking about what we had for dinner. She mentioned she had macaroni and cheese (that's it). No, she was not financially challenged (her parents were BOTH professionals). I asked her what about the meat and greens and bread? I will never forget the look on her face, it actually mirrored the look I was giving her; "are you crazy?" I told my mom when I got home from school and she confirmed that for some people macaroni and cheese IS a meal all by itself, and for others, (US) we have much more. Now, fast forward X amount of years later, the kitchen is where everyone congregates, and the meals are much more detailed. DIVERSITY, take a little, and add a little
